The pursuit of a career in medicine is costly. We hope to support Latin students through their pre-med journeys to increase Latino representation in Medicine.
Conexiones Latinas
CALMS partners with Casta Latina to share our mission and reach Latin Canadians on a national level at the Conexiones Latinas annual event!
Events Highlights
Salsa Social
Our CALMS team hosted a free salsa dance class, where medical students of all backgrounds learned the basics from a professional instructor, and had a chance to experience Latin culture first hand.

Hispanics in Health
We hosted CALMS' largest event, the Hispanics in Health: Student Symposium, where Latin American healthcare professionals discussed their careers and providing culturally competent care, attracting a large audience of Hispanic undergraduate and medical students for learning and networking.

STEAM Design
Our high school outreach event at UofT was a great success, where we enjoyed teaching clinical skills to underserved high school students in the STEAM-D summer program, inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals.

High School Outreach
We had a fantastic outreach event at the San Lorenzo Latin American Community Centre, inspiring high school students to pursue healthcare careers by sharing our medical journeys and teaching basic physical exam techniques.

We hosted our inaugural event, a panel discussion featuring healthcare professionals addressing the challenges the Hispanic community faces in accessing healthcare, and how to provide culturally competent care.
